Apple and Beet Smoothie
Serves: 1
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 1 gala apple peeled and diced
  • ½ cup frozen mixed berries
  • ⅓ cup raw or roasted beets, diced
  • 1- inch piece ginger
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon agave
  • ¼ cup coconut milk or soy milk
  • 2-3 ice cubes
  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

    My fiance is allergic to oranges and doesn’t eat all that well. I would like to make something like this to help boost his vitamin and fruit/veggie intake. I was just wondering if there is something you would suggest as a substitute for the orange juice? Would something like grapefruit or pineapple work?

  7. I love this smoothie and I’ve made it myself quite a few times but without the agave. I always made it because it tastes good. :)
