Buckwheat Granola

This delicate gluten free granola is rich in flavor and a great source of fiber.

I have so many granola recipes but this is the one that I keep making more often.

I like the crunch of the buckwheat and his health benefits.

Buckwheat granola


Buckwheat is a rich source of antioxidant and a good source of vitamin E.

Purchase buckwheat groats and not the kasha.

To sprout the buckwheat; rinse well and cover with fresh water. Soak overnight. Rinse and drain well. Place your buckwheat in a strainer covered with a tea towel. Rinse once daily. You can sprout for 24 hours or more if you want.

  • 4 cups sprouted buckwheat groats
  • ½ cup raw almond
  • ⅓ cup raw sunflower seeds
  • ⅓ cup raw pumpkin seeds
  • 2 Tablespoons flax seed
  • ⅓ cup dried apricots
  • ⅓ cup dried cranberries
  • ⅓ cup dried raisins
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup agave
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  1. Preheat oven to 325F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the buckwheat, almond, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seed, dried apricot, dried cranberries dried raisins ,and brown sugar.
  3. In a saucepan ,heat agave, coconut oil, cinnamon, and salt until warm.
  4. Pour the coconut mixture over the nut mixture and mix well.
  5. Spread the granola mixture onto a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes.
  6. With a large spatula, mix the granola mixture every 10 minutes to make sure it does not burn.
  7. Remove the granola from the oven and let it cool on the baking sheet.
  8. Once the granola has cooled scrape it into a large bowl and store.
